WHAT'S HAPPENING

The nature of the business that Globaleather is involved in continues to be interesting and enjoyable. The number of companies, organizations and individuals who are in regular contact with this site is most encouraging. We are now supplying products to some major international retailers and direct to individuals all over the world. We are finding that an increasing number of visitors to this site are making purchases. The GL100 Wheelchair Accessories are proving to be very popular and the hard work that we have put in to developing the wheelchair gloves, of which we now have seven adult styles and junior gloves, has been enjoyable and worthwhile. An increasing number of companies and organisations are purchasing our wheelchair gloves, of which mostly are registered designs, with their own brand names featured.

We no longer supply pet accessories due to our involvement and passion in developing and supplying effective wheelchair accessories. Enquiries about pet accessories should now be directed to P.P. Enhancements (info@ppenhancements.co.uk).

We maintain our interest in the Globaleather leather goods range, which is now greatly reduced but includes new styles, and we are now supplying leading importers, retailers and promotion companies and are developing specialist leather products for major service organisations. It is very encouraging to work with organisations which have genuine concerns for the welfare and development of this industry.

The 7 styles of adult wheelchair gloves and 2 styles of children's wheelchair gloves include an upgrade of the original Standard adult gloves, which are now also available in brown leather. All styles of wheelchair gloves have been so well accepted by wheelchair users throughout the world that it has been a real pleasure to know that wheelchair users are appreciative of the intense testing that takes place to develop practical wheelchair glove styles. We have recently introduced a new concept in hand protection, Wheelchair Wraps. These easy are easy to fit and wrap around the hand and are secured by two Velcro tabs. The rubberized palm provides fantastic grip in all conditions. We have also introduced Push Cuffs which are made from quality leather with suede palm protection.

Our European distributor, Med Services Europe GmbH, recently developed the amazing Wheelchair Slippers. This product protects hands and interiors from the nasty mess that can be picked up on the 24" wheels and tyres. We proudly present this to our customers, who we know will appreciate the need for this innovative product.

One of our most successful products is a leather badge wallet for displaying the European Blue Parking Badge and timer. The badge wallet is now available in a pink and a purple colour. We can also supply these and other products to organisations requiring their own artwork / logo.

We are now supplying good value wheelchair cushions and muffs that feature MaxFlect heat reflective inserts. The cushions are available in black nylon or imitation animal fur that is flame retardant to BS 5852. Both of these cushions have a stash pocket in the base and have been tested by wheelchair users for comfort and durability. The flashing light with a soft feel lens and replaceable watch style batteries continuous to sell well. The light can be attached to wheelchairs or other objects that need to be visible in low light or dark situations.

The specialist wheelchair bags which we recently launched are proving very successful.

The popular Versatile Wheelchair Day Pack is now available in a larger size. This is because of the many requests that we have received from our customers who have purchased the smaller Day Pack and like using this type of bag so much that to have an alternative large bag is of great benefit.

The wheelchair Carry Bag is available in black, blue, red or lilac and has been designed to hang from handles at the rear of wheelchairs that have push handles. These bags are only to be used if the wheelchair is being pushed or the chair is stable as weight on the rear of wheelchairs can upset balance.

All our wheelchair accessories are now marketed as GL100.

For our leather products we are continuing our direction of only using leather that has been produced as a by-product of the human food chain. The inhumane transport and slaughtering of animals, which is unforgivingly performed extensively in this trade, is an area we will not tolerate. It is incredible how assurances are given to many buyers that the leather used for the manufacture of their products has been acceptably procured as these assurances are often groundless. We appreciate that you are prepared to pay a small premium for Globaleather leather goods because of our strict policies.

Globaleather has been working with a number of producers in various countries who are working to our ethical standards. There is still a lot more we can do and we are always interested to hear from manufacturers, investors and government bodies to expand our philosophy.

That recent volume business that has been generated by Globaleather because of our trading ethics is a positive sign that major retail organisations are taking notice of the demands of the modern consumer. We are also working closely with a variety of organisations which require our experience.

This photograph was taken some time ago when Trevor was well enough to travel and work directly with the organisations which Globaleather is now working with. The planned photographic library which Trevor is hoping to put together will require a dedicated approach. It is hoped that we can develop this with the collaboration of an inspired individual or organisation. We would love to hear from anyone prepared to assist in getting this together. Please contact Trevor Palmer.

The response that we have received from assorted sources as to developments, worldwide, in this industry indicate a growing awareness. The development of the wheelchair gloves has introduced the company to a completely new market and we will continue to produce a comprehensive range of practical products that will benefit people throughout the world. Please E-mail Globaleather at: tpglobe@lineone.net if you have any views on how we can improve our service.

Another interesting development that Trevor has been working on is ResponsABLE assistance. You can check out the website at www.responsableassistance.org.
